The Las Vegas-Clark County Urban League, incorporated in July 2004, seeks a President and Chief Executive Officer to lead its programs and personnel in serving the population of 2,340,000 in Clark County. The agency currently manages programs in childcare, women, infants and children, and entrepreneurship.

Located just east of California, south of portions of Oregon and Idaho, west of Utah, and northwest of Arizona, Nevada’s landscape consists of sandy deserts as well as forest and snow-covered mountains. With a total land mass of 110,567 square miles, Nevada is the seventh largest state in size. A sizable portion of Nevada’s land (including an estimated 89% in Clark County) is owned by the federal government.
Given the explosive growth in Southern Nevada, the Clark County School District is the fastest growing school district in the country. In the area of employment, the leisure and hospitality services sectors supply more than a quarter (28%) of the jobs, followed by government (12.4%), professional and business services (11.1%), retail trade (11.2%), and construction (9.2%).
The successful candidate must have a proven record of achievements in meeting strategic and organizational development goals, meeting fundraising targets and revenue growth, maintaining cost efficiency, grant acquisition, financial stability, program expansion and effectiveness, service delivery, and stakeholder engagement. Candidates for the position of President/CEO must hold a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in business administration, social work, public administration, or an appropriate discipline, with a proven track record of leadership and management in a community-based organization/community action agency with at least five years of senior non-profit or for-profit management experience with demonstrated successes in the areas of development and implementation of social service programs, program evaluation, advocacy, policy development, fund raising and work with public and private sectors, background in research, public and community education, fiscal management, strategic planning, resource development, board and volunteer relations and management, community mobilization and collaboration, and personnel management. Additional qualifications include excellent organizational and communications skills, grant/proposal writing experience, and government/community relations experience. These are minimum requirements for the position of President/CEO.
